You

Christian Gonzalez
Staff Writer

Even though we just met
I feel like I’ve known you forever.
I see your smile, and I can’t help but smile back.
You may not know me yet but we soon will meet again.

I will probably regret not talking to you
but we have to give it a chance.
I know we are far apart
our hearts will keep us together.
I can feel that you are the one for me.

Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations

Lorenzo Cromwell
Staff Writer

The goal in the game is to finish all of the character’s story lines in story mode and you get more characters, to play as. When you play more stories and to unlock new stories you have to complete a story about their life (aka) their fights they went through until a different part of their life or until they die.

It’s quite simple to play.  On the xbox 360 you use the B button to punch and move the left analog stick with the B button to do different combos. Each character has different jutsu.  To do a jutsu, press the Y button and then the B button.  A jutsu is like a super power that every body in the game can do.

But in order to do a jutsu you need a certain amount of chakra  (A chakra is an  amount of energy that your character has.). You can keep track of your chakra in the game by looking at the blue gauge in the picture below. There are jutsu that require more chakra then the normal jutsu, these are called ultimate jutsus and they do way more damage then a normal jutsu and you can see a little slash on the blue gauge that tells you that you can do one.

There are also team ultimate jutsus when your team gauge is filled up with red flames that surround the gauge. Your teammates help you by attacking your opponent and then you can use your own ultimate jutsu.

This picture shows a team battle with Saskue Uchiha and Kimmemaru, (Saskue is the one on the left in blue and white) versus Naruto Uzumaki and Rock Lee and Garra of the Dessert. (Naruto is the one on the right in orange). In the picture, Naruto is using his ninjutsu called the rasengan and Saskue is using the chidori

Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations is rated T for teens because of the cartoon violence and fighting, and this game is based on the popular Naruto Shippuden series in English and Japanese. You can buy this game at Target, Gamestop, Walmart, and Best Buy.

I think this game is great because of the new and old character game play. I would give it 5 out of 5 stars because it’s a really fun game, and the action is really cool and graphic.

So You Want To Be A Wizard

Renae Paraiso
Editor in Chief

One of my favorite books of all time, So You Want to be a Wizard by Diane Duane is the kind of book that will pull you into its pages and make you feel the magic that’s at work. It is also the first book in the Young Wizard series.

The story begins with our protagonist, Nita, who is being chased by neighborhood bullies after the ringleader, Joanne, shows off the new bike she got, the same one that Nita had wanted for her birthday. Just as it seems like she would get caught, Nita finds sanctuary in the public library, taking refuge in the children’s section which used to be a basement.

As she waits out the antagonizers upstairs, she begins to browse through books she has read plenty of times in her youth.  She finds one book she has never noticed before, it was titled So You Want to be a Wizard. Fascinated by it, she picks it up and begins to read. The book is actually a manuel for those brave enough to take the Oath and become a wizard. At first, Nita believes it’s a joke, being curious about it, she checks it out.

Unfortunately, on her way home Nita gets jumped by her bullies and in the aftermath she finds that her favorite space pen has gone missing - or stolen as she later finds out. Once in the safety of her bedroom, she takes the Oath in hopes to cast a spell to find the pen, and if possible make Joanne disappear.

However, greater Powers have something else in mind as the search for her pen turns into an all out adventure as she must try to find The Book of Night with Moon, a powerful book that describes everything in the Universe and beyond, before something horrible happens. She, along with a fellow wizard, Kit and a white hole named Fred take on the quest to a shady version of Manhattan to find the Bright Book.

A fantastic story filled with the science and art of wizardry that will most likely keep you interested, this book is perfect for fantasy and science-fiction lovers.  I’m giving it five stars because I still love it and reading it is still enjoyable for me.

Jersey Shore Review

Julisa Avitia
Staff Writer

Jersey Shore is a Mtv show that has been on the air for six seasons, one each of the last six summers. Each season, eight roommates party, tan, and work in New Jersey, Miami, or Italy, depending on where the show producers wanted them to be.

Some of the roommates are Jenni, known as “Jwoww”, Nicole known as “Snooki”, Sammi known as “Sweetheart” and Mike known as “The Situation.” The other roommates are Vinny, Pauly D, Ronnie, and Deena. There was an old roommate that came out on season one and two, and her name was Angelina. She came out for two seasons and when she was gone the other roommates were glad. Each season they live in a different place; they are not from the Jersey Shore, they just party there during the summer.

Every summer there were conflicts between the roommates, and things changed every season. They got into arguments and fights and all this changed the way the roommates acted with one another.  In some of the seasons Ron and Sammi were in a relationship. which was on and off because they argued a lot. Jenni has a boyfriend who does not live in the house and every season they have a conflict, too.

On season two, Snooki brought her best friend, Deena with her.  Everyone at the house got along with Deena. Snooki and Deena call themselves the two meatballs. They did everything together club, drink, smoke, dance, and etc., but things changed.

Before the roommates came back to Jersey for the last season there was a show called Jwoww and Snooki. It was about when Snooki and Jenni rented an apartment for themselves. Snooki told Jwoww she was getting married to her boyfriend because she was pregnant. Jwoww was surprised.  Snooki thought  Jenni wouldn’t want to move in with her, but she did.

On the last season Snooki came to Jersey pregnant and it changed everything. She couldn’t go out clubbing or tanning. She couldn’t either drink or smoke. Deena felt disappointed when Snooki got pregnant since she wasn’t going to have her meatball to party with anymore. Snooki decided to move to an apartment on her own because she thought a pregnant lady wasn’t suppose to be in the house, around all the drama. When her roommates would go out clubbing she would spend her time with her fiance. Deena, Jenni, and Sammi threw Snooki a baby shower. She now has a baby boy named Lorenzo

Things have changed throughout the seasons with the roommates.  There were a lot of ups and downs in the house. Now, in the last season everything has changed. Mike is clean and Deena has finally fallen in love with her boyfriend Chris, and it’s really hard for her to be away from him she has also changed she is a different person. Jenni and her boyfriend, Roger are still together even though they argue sometimes and Sammi and Ronnie are back in relationship. It seems like the roommates have finally grown up.

Out of five stars I would give this show four stars. This show is funny, but it isn’t appropriate for little kids. This year’s season six was the last season for Jersey Shore.  You can still watch some new episodes from this season on Mtv. I really did like this show and I’ll miss the characters, even though they sometimes did inappropriate things. I found them funny. This was a good show to watch.

The Possession

By Julisa Avitia
Staff Writer

Movie Poster for The Possession
The Possession is a terrifying movie about a teenage girl named Em getting possessed. This movie is based on a true story.  Em’s parents, Clyde and Stephanie, are divorced.  She spends weekdays with her mom and some weekends with her dad she also, has a sister named Hannah. Em had bought an antique wooden box from a yard sale, she liked and which the previous owner gets ragdolled. The demon comes in the form of a dybbuk, which is an evil spirit out of a Jewish folklore.

Finally Em opens the box and begins to exhibit uncharacteristic, strange, as well as increasingly violent behaviors. Her dad sees that she is not acting as usual as the days go by and wants to find out what is happening to her. She acts strange since she has been overtaken by an apparition of a Jewish legend the dybbuk. This is an unspeakable evil and that devours its human host.

Her dad Clyde wants to trap the old spirit back into the box again. Clyde drives more than one hundred miles to New York to find the Jewish exorcist, Rabbi Tzadox and they after team up. Clyde wants to trace the origins of the box. The relationship between Em and her dad Clyde turns out to be good.

Out of 5 stars, I would give this film 5 stars. I think this movie is scary because it shows how people get possessed and you get to see what the demon looks like.  You also see how Em suffers while she is possessed. This movie is also interesting because you learn a little bit about the origins of the demon, as well as Jewish lore. I saw this movie the second day that it came out. I think people should watch this movie, I would recommend it.

Bloody Snow

By Renae Paraiso
Editor in Chief

This little creation I made during the seventh grade as an assignment in my art class. It was done in photoshop elements, and we, the class and I, had to make backgrounds with that and art tablets. The work was fun to say the least, and your probably pondering to yourself, "Why is the snow red?" Before you ask, yes that is snow, and I just felt like it. Most people want to have a white Christmas, but I thought I would have been better if it was a bloody one. Pretty morbid yes, but that's how I am.

Portal, Game Revew

By Jesus Diaz
Staff Writer

Portal is a skill game on the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC platforms.  It is rated T for Teen.  There also is a sequel, Portal 2, out now. In the game you have a Portal gun. One side of the gun is blue, and if you shoot that side of the gun at a cement wall, it will teleport you to an orange portal.  The gun also has an orange side.  If you shoot that at a wall, and then shoot the blue wall next to it, you’ll go through the blue portal.  The gun shoots blue and orange colors.

Blue and orange portals

The purpose of the game is to escape the building you’re trapped in, and all you have for a weapon is your portal gun, which takes you to different places in the building.  Beware of the bad robots in the game that can shoot you.  You can’t shoot them back, but you can knock them down.  You can find out how if you play!

You should check out both Portal and Portal 2.  Portal 2 is now available for $29.99 and you can buy it at Game Market inside Xbox 360, at he Playstation Store inside the PS3, and download it onto your PC. You can also buy it at Game Stop and Best Buy.

I would give this game five of five stars.
